New Life Breathed Into Private Community Temple Farm Remediation

Formally a scrapyard, this 34-hectare rural site was been remediated and developed to provide a live/work campus. The design of which was intended to complement its rural surroundings and incorporate attractive and sustainable building and landscape design.

The previously uncared for land was overgrown with vegetation and three large ponds containing a build-up of silt were in desperate need of restoring, particularly due to a faulty embankment which was causing one of the ponds to leak.

Ebsford were appointed to carry out the desilting and enhancement works due to their experience in innovative and environmentally sensitive solutions.

Following extensive vegetation clearance, de-silting was completed using an amphibious excavator. Alongside bank reprofiling works, the resulting silt was re-positioned behind Nicospan and used to create new embankments which could then be planted as required.

To ensure longevity of the restoration Ebsford also designed and created an inlet and oulet between each of the ponds, combined with silt traps and maintenance platforms. This allows the client to easily access the silt traps in future to carry out efficient silt removal as required.
